Food safety - Auckland

NOTE: This is a longer workshop than usual, as we are using an external training body that has minimum requirements for providing the course.

This half-day course covers essential information to enable food handlers to prepare and serve food safely, including some discussion of current regulatory requirements. The course is delivered by NSF Burwater - read more about course.

If you are still trying to figure out what level of compliance applies to your programme, this might be a good starting point. BUT this workshop does NOT cover the topic of compliance with the Food Act in detail. We are recommending it, however, for managers and owners who want to be better informed about food safety and possible next steps to complying with the Act.

Topics include

- The importance of providing safe food
- National and local regulations relating to food safety
- The cost of foodborne illness
- Food safety hazards
- Cross-contamination
- Personal hygiene
